I have enteried about 100. I know chances of winning is slim but it doesn't hurt to try. Wow your quilt top looks so good. I love all of the red. It was suggested by a friend to brake up mine into table runners and I think I will do that. It will leave one for me and then three others for gifts. We will see. I to am interested in entering into a quilt show. I will be ready those that post to you as I also have no ideas of how to go about doing it. A...The Designer Mystery is looking fabulous Linda!

As to entering your quilt in a show...you don't need to stress, just go for it!!
I've entered at the LA County Fair, and have put at least one quilt in my guild's shows every show. But our shows are really "member showcases" - no tough judging, just viewer's choice & fun categories. I have to say, that made it easier for me to enter at the Fair! I just enter so other people can see them, and don't worry about any judging. Don't compare your work with others, but that this is YOUR work and you certainly do beautiful work. Make sure you read the show rules - usually basics - if there is a theme (or open catagories) - if within a catagory make sure you put in the right one and size. If you need a hanging sleeve and what size.
Judging on construction: even seams, points aren't cut off, matched seams, borders are even and lay flat, any mitered borders are flat and on correct angle, binding should be hand sewn to back with even hidden stitches and a mitered corner, binding should be evenly filled, whether machine or hand quilted - stitches should be even, when quilt lays or hangs it is smooth.
And you do all these things already - so why stress.Vroomans' Quiltshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07258050499246235109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7900320065722105446.post-83343406734738662932011-05-24T08:52:01.057-07:002011-05-24T08:52:01.057-07:00I think you should definitely enter the quilt show...I think you should definitely enter the quilt show - and I think you're definitely up to the level of others! Then focus on the binding...one of the first things they eliminate you on. When it comes time to bind your show quilt, let me know. I have a great tutorial by Carrie Nelson I can send to you. There is, of course, the element of being judged, and that can make one nervous. But we're not talking about state, regional, national, or international shows here. The real reason quilts are in local shows: Eye Candy for the attendees. :D Really!! I go to a local show to see what folks have been doing, get ideas, and "oo" and "ah". So each contribution to the show is great. Ribbons are frosting on the cake and a nod to that quilter to think about entering in juried and larger shows. :DLynettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10424861624240818479noreply@blogger.com
