THANK YOU!

I just couldn't wait until next Monday to extend my heartfelt thanks to my wonderful blogging friends who helped me achieve my goal for the local Walk to Defeat ALS.  My special friend, Lana, of It Seams to be Sew, put out a request to her readers to help me reach my Walk goal.  Thanks to Lana, and blogging friends Mary, Kris, Cheryl, Melissa, Marcia, Tamera, Jennifer, Colleen, Kathy, Thearica, Peggy (aka Sunny), Carolyn H, and Jessica H, Elisa, Christine, Pam C, Mollie, and Pam V and family and local friends,  I have surpassed my goal of $3500!  My blogging friends are the absolute best!  Thank you!!!!

Hugs,

Edited 10/3/11 .  I would like to share my DH's comment he left below:
I am deeply touched by the overwhelming support given to Linda for the Walk to Defeat ALS. The outpouring of support, both monetary and moral, helps far more than just Linda and me. The funds raised by this walk makes possible a local case worker, a support group for patients and families, an equipment loan pool, and helps fund vital ground breaking research to find a cure for this devastating disease. I cannot express how much it means to have the loving support of all of you. As much as ALS has taken from us, it has given us many wonderful things. I know that may sound very strange, but Linda and I have reflected many times what wonderful, courageous people we have met, how much closer we have become, and has helped us to appreciate what a gift this life is. One of the best things has been our involvement in the monthly ALS support group. At group we console each other, trade tips on how to deal with the ever changing and varied symptoms, learn about the disease, exchange funny and no-so-funny stories, talk about our fears, share what has helped us, what doesn't work, what ticks us off, how to navigate some of the insurance/legal issues, etc, etc. As you may know, Linda is not much of a joiner (ie; local quilt guild), but she makes sure that we arrange our schedule to fit with group meeting times. Again, thank you all so much, and think of the ALS motto: Never Give Up! - Linda hasn't.
Sincerely, Linda's DH (Greg)

Wow, congrats! Although, I'll say, when I saw that you had blogged today, I thought maybe I had missed a day somewhere - it often seems that way when I travel from country to country to country.

Surprise! Glad we can help and support you. Even though we've never met, I am still thankful for your presence in my life. Lana came up with a great idea to show how much you mean to us and I'm glad I could contribute! *big hug*

So glad that you passed your goal. You were in my thoughts as I was hoping the day was as gorgeous there as it was here for the walk.

Congratulations, Linda! Thank you for sharing! My great aunt had ALS about 40 years ago. Her experience gave us the opportunity to show much love. A dear friend's husband is currently battling the disease. He is having a difficult time.

Miss your posts this week. Love reading your blog! Take care!

Just happy to be able to do something small. You are a wonderful member of this blogging community and being able to give something back is a blessing in and of itself.
