It Was A Good Mail Day!!

"Adopt the pace of nature:  her secret is patience. "
                                                           ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

I realized that yesterday I forgot to let you know what my background color selection is for my flower garden quilt.  I have decided on (drum roll) - White!  After making a few more blocks, in addition to the two I showed you with the color selection, I decided the white was the color (or non color) that set of the bright colors the best.  I had originally tilted toward the light green or the light lemon yellow but the light green seemed to pale out the brights and the yellow just didn't do the yellow flower petals justice.  So, white it is!

Photo Of The Day:

The promise of a cloud?  Could there be rain on the horizon?  (Uh, no!)

A cloud is a visible mass of droplets of water or frozen crystals suspended in the atmosphere above the surface of the earth.  Cloud types or genera are grouped into three general categories: cirriform (mainly detached and wispy), cumuliform or convective (mostly detached and heaped, rolled or rippled), and stratiform (mainly continuous layers in sheets). These designations distinguish a cloud's physical structure and process of formation. All weather-related cloud types form in the troposphere,  the lowest major layer of the earth's atmosphere.

Today I went out to the mail and there were THREE packages for ME!  What could be in them?  Quick, take a picture before you rip into them.

The first one was the giveaway buttons I won over at The Quilted Fish.  Amanda included a wonderful fat quarter as a bonus!

The next was an unexpected gift from my friend, Leona, from Leona's Quilting Adventure.  She sent me a wonderful handmade checkbook cover and tissue holder plus a lovely little note.  She is such a sweetheart!  Thank you so very much, Leona!!

The third piece of mail was just some fabric I had purchased on Ebay to the binding to go on my Chubby Stars Quilt (didn't get a picture of that).  So all in all, it was a wonderful day at my mailbox!!

A very nice lady, Lynda, over at Lynda's Quilts nominated me for the Versatile Blogger award last week.

First I am to tell you 7 things about myself and then send it on to 12 other bloggers, so here it goes:

1.  I have an irrational fear of bees and wasps.  You can include in that group any beetle that flies, cockroaches, and water bugs.  Ewwwwww!!!!!

2.  I love four legged, furry creatures and can't imagine my life without at least two dogs in it.

3.  I have two adorable grandsons which I don't get to see nearly enough of since they live 12 hours away :(

4.  I'm great at following patterns but don't have the creative genius to try to create a quilt of my own.

5.  I love to read and easily get distracted from sewing by reading all of the wonderful blogs out there.

6.  I met my soul mate in high school and we have been married for over 35 years.

7.  I had two horned toads, a chipmunk, several tadpoles, a parakeet, and a turtle as pets growing up.  My parents finally gave up and got me a dog when I was 10.

Now I will pass this award onto the following 12 bloggers:

OK 12 bloggers, it is now your turn to pass it on!  I could have doubled the list but I was restricted to 12 - tried to mix it up at least a little.  Check out their blogs - I think you will enjoy them.

Final Thoughts

Awards are nice but shouldn't be the main goal in life.  A pat on the back is always appreciated.  But to be happy in life is what should matter.  So, no matter what you are doing, where you are, or who you are with, try to smile and think of the wonderful life you are living.

Have a terrific Tuesday!!
