Friday! I can't believe it's here already. I did not do one creative thing yesterday :( But the day wasn't a waste either :I It began with my normal blog reading (so many creative people out there!), then on to wash the pups, lunch at The Village Grill with DH, DD, and BFF. Then I enjoyed the afternoon and evening with my DD (Kristen) who was up for a short visit :)
Photo Of The Day
Immature Bell Peppers growing in my backyard
Bell peppers, also known as sweet peppers, are like the Christmas ornaments of the vegetable world since they are beautifully shaped, glossy in appearance and come in a variety of vivid colors such as green, red, yellow, orange, purple, brown and black. Despite their varied palette, all are the same plant, known scientifically as Capsicum annuum, and are members of the nightshade family, which also includes potatoes, tomatoes and eggplant. Bell peppers have a delightful, slightly watery crunch. Green and purple peppers have a slightly bitter flavor, while the red, orange and yellows are sweeter and almost fruity. Pimento and paprika are both prepared from red bell peppers.

Since I didn't create anything yesterday, Snickerdoodle and Weasley would like to share their bath day. First we will hear from Snickerdoodle:
"Are you sure we really have to do this?"
"There has to be a way out of here!"
"I can't believe that she is taking my picture when I look like this!"
"I'm ready to be dried - NOW!"
"I'm clean now. So let's play so I can finish drying. You will play with me NOW!!!"
Now we will hear from Weasley - he really does enjoy bath time:
"Is it my turn yet?"
"What are you waiting for? Turn on the warm water and let's get going!"
"Ahhh - so relaxing. Perhaps I'll just take a quick nap"
"Enough of the soap and scrubbing, please rinse me off."
"Maybe she'll just forget I'm here and I can get some z's."
"I'm dry enough. I'd like to get down now please."
"Who needs a stupid toy to play with!?! There's nothing better than rubbing all over the towel after a bath - now that's my idea of fun!"
"Now it's nap time. Such a strenuous morning!"

Now for something you can use. I made this for the DD last night for dinner. She really liked it and even went home with the recipe.
SPICY GARLIC LIME CHICKEN
Ingredients:
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
2 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons garlic powder
3 tablespoons lime juice
Directions
1. In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, cayenne, paprika, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, onion powder, thyme and parsley. Sprinkle spice mixture generously on both sides of the chicken breasts
2. Heat butter and the olive oil in a large heavy skillet over medium heat. Saute chicken until golden brown, about 6 minutes on each side. Sprinkle with 2 teaspoons garlic powder and lime juice. Cook 5 minutes, turning frequently to coat evenly with sauce.
I forgot to take a picture while it was cooking and then again served nicely with a side dish. Can you tell I was distracted talking with the DD?
Personal Notes
1. This is not as spicy as it sounds. Quite light and refreshing and very easy.
2. The spice mixture is enough for two to three breasts. If doing four or more breasts, I would double the first 8 ingredients.
3. Very good reheated.

Loved the pictures of bathtime!!!
Our weekend will be busy too - bridal shower, company for dinner and more.
Awww - I can't wait to see Mason with the pups at Christmas!! *sigh* I dislike my dogs so much. Anyway...that chicken looks good! I'll be making that soon. Talk to you Sunday.
What cute little doxies! Wish Ms. Daphne enjoyed bathtime.
My weekend will probably be consumed helping my DD move into a new apartment.
Your babies are cute! Love the bath time pictures.
I used to give our dog a bath....not sure which one of us got the wettest tho. The chicken recipe sounds so good. My husband won't eat chicken breasts tho so will have to try it with thighs for him.
Thanks for sharing your day. I hope you get some creative time this weekend!
Such cute little dogs! Little dogs always look so forlorn when they are wet! LOL!
I absolutely loved all your photos !!! Yeap, dogs - PRICELESS..
How cute!! I love and understand both of them!! Limo hates getting a bath like your doggie #1, while your doggie #2 seems to be totally enjoying his time in the tub... Very interesting. But no matter how they are, I love Dachshund!! Thanks for sharing great pictures. They made me laugh so hard and it's a good start for the weekend :)))
And they say raising children takes patience!! LOL THAT must be an all-day job, washing the babies. No wonder you haven't been sewin! LOL The chicken sounds wonderful! I'm always looking for good chicken recipes!
Blessings,
Mary Lou
Oh my!! What adorable doxies!!! My 2 are the same way - almost exact opposites when it comes to baths! lol
Love the bath pictures, Linda. I am afraid my little Buddy wouldn't be quite as nice. LOL Have a good day. Winona
